Hey whats up i have a 91 gvr4 with jdm cyclone motor am searchin to see what turbo should i use i was thinkin of how you guys would think i would use a PT76hps is on a t04e cover but the a/r is 84 how laggy would this turbo actually be. I want to run around 28lbls plus the nitrous

Jdm cyclone motor
Bc 288 cams. spring retainers
Tial f46 wastegate
stock bottom end
75shot of nitrous
Keydrive ecu for 1000cc
Head Gasket and Studs

thats why am a new am usually an sr20 guy but we normally run like 25lbls and a 75 or 50 shot on a hole stock motor and this motor is almost the same

T76 @ 28lbs on a stock motor AND nitrous? That probably will not last. I would hesitate to throw that at a built motor with a 75 shot unless I was really confident in my tuning. As for spoolup, I can only hazard a guess of around 5500-6000rpm

Tell us your goals for the car

SR20 bottom ends I think are aluminum so a DSM bottom end should hold up a little better with lots of boost. There have been some fellow DSMers that have got over 500awhp on a stock motor.
Till there head lifts: D Lol

I think a fp red would be great. thumb:

Am trying to make it a street/track car. Maybe run 10s am trying to get out of the motor the most i can before i have to build the block.

Even if you leave the rest of the engine stock, a set of ARP head studs are definitely going to be needed to not lift the head and blow the headgasket at 28psi + nitrous.

If you can indeed accomplish that with only headstuds and a better HG, I will want to shake your hand.

...And that turbo is huge.

thats really what am trying to do stock bottom end with good HG and Studs. And semi build head except polished

If you’re looking to run 10s I would suggest the FP HTA GT3586R Ball Bearing Turbocharger it will spool pretty fast for the track and street. And definitely get you in the 10s even without the NOS. I don’t know how much the stock motor would like this turbo however.

What's up with those monster cams? You'll probably make less power than with you stock cams with those bad boys as they push your powerband to somewhere in the 8000+ rpm range. I can assure you that you won't be revving that high on a stock bottom end.

I think you need to take a look at your mod list and rethink your strategy a bit. What you have is a cobbled together parts list that wouldn't work well in any application.

Once you figure out what you want to do with the car then you should purchase the correct mods.

Way to be a downer!!:notgood:

If he is looking to run 10s than his parts list doesn't look that bad other than the stock bottom end and a better form of EMS with bigger injectors and a fuel pump depending on how much boost he is looking at running.

You're going to need some bottom end work to hold that in. You cams are probably also to big for your goals. Go to the top of the page and click "Members"->"1/4 Mile Times" and see what kind of setups people of your target time have.

Here's even and example:

Downer? Maybe. Realist? Yes.
My 2¢ on that setup is that you are hoping to slap on some parts and run 10s, which realistically won't happen. I mean this in the kindest way possible, but your inexperience is showing in this thread, which is ok, we all have to start somewhere. That turbo is very large, and the nitrous is unnecessary for your goals of hitting 10s. I also have doubts about the capabilities of the stock block to hold together with your goals. The stock block has gone 10s before, no doubt, but to be entirely honest it was done by people with years of experience tuning and racing these cars, which you seem to lack. I believe the record holder for stock block HP is 585 at the wheels by Mike Rizzotti . It is unlikely that you would be able to match that, even given an identical setup, due to the experience differential. Also, you mention studs and a headgasket, but what studs? What headgasket? If you want this goal you'd probably need something along the lines of A1 Technologies studs and a FelPro 1153-1 gasket.
In addition to this, you have no drivetrain mods. You can't just slap on mods to an engine and call it a day, if you are serious about running fast times, you need a solid clutch, transmission, suspension, tires, etc. I see none of those things on your list. It seems like your are trying to sprint before you are even walking. My advice is to go back through this site and search. Also, look at VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions and read that site.
I would suggest downsizing your goals first, 10s are very fast, it's hard to hit that goal on your first shot. At this point let me say that you said you have experience already modifying/racing cars and feel confident in your abilities, but realize that SR20s are 2.0 Turbos, and that's as far as the similarities between them and the 4G63 go. If I were you, I would look into building up my supporting mods first, fuel, engine management, drivetrain, in order to familiarize yourself with this platform before you go all out.
If you really have your heart set on 10s and want to do it now, I would say your best bet would be an HTA35R variant or HX40 running DSMLink on an Eagle/Wiseco bottom end, although a stock bottom end might be able to support that with a GREAT tune (unlikely if you have no experience tuning). Sorry for the novel, but I hope that helped you realize that your goals are maybe a little loftier than you realized, I'm sorry if I sounded like a dick, my intent was merely to give you a reality check so that you dont jump into this with both feet only to be disappointed later.
