Whats up everyone I am new this forum. I have a 05 Evo VIII MR.

I was curious if anyone in the Sacramento area have the timing belt tensioner tool MD998738 and if I can either buy it or borrow it. I need it as soon as possible for I have tune at GST Motorsports on Saturday and I need to install my cams and cam gears. This is kind of a odd request from a newbie, but I assure you if anyone lets me borrow it'll come back in one piece, threads not pulled or streched. Basically in the same condition as borrowed.

You can make your very own MD998738 out of a piece of 8x1.25 thread rod with a nut welded to one end. If the battery tie down bolt on your Evo is 8x1.25 (as it is on DSM's) then you can thread the rest of that and use it. Or you can do what I do with the 4g63 hydraulic tensioner; take it off, compress it with a pair of 20" channel locks, and screw that POS MD998738 tool.
