Hello,
I am Havok new to the DSM world but not new to the automotive turbo world. First I am very interested in purchasing a 1G Eagle Talon TSI AWD only with the pending sale of my Camero Z28. Basically what it is I am saying is that I am very interested in learning, with your help, how I will be able to tune a talon to get it into the 9's. I have been told 600hp can get me to 9.8s. I am also curious if there are any parts that can be salvaged and used from a 3000GT Vr4 as we have a lot of those parts laying around. Any information or tips that you have will be helpful. Thanks so much for your time.

Nothings impossiable but try not to set your goals higher than what you can afford, youll only let yourself down. The non turbo 3kgt have a popular dual piston caliper swap from fronts to fronts because the 1g awd are single piston calipers. This is supposed to be a huge noticable differance in breaking power. If you ever have any questions feel free to mail me I'll be happy to help out.

I know that I'm also newer to the DSM world but am quickly learning that it really isn't rediculous to build a 9 second car on a pretty low budget. This site is perfect for any questions that you really have. It's always important to list if your car is a 1g or 2g. The cars use the same basic setup but vary a whole lot. I bought my first DSM in March and have already doe an engine swap to it and still have yet to get it running but already feel like a DSM Wiseman with all the nonsense I've dealt with. There are a lot of problems with DSM's. Mostly because the peple that get them usally dump them once they have beaten the living piss out of it, but takes true DSMers to bring out the "awesomness" in them.

Any questions just Hit Me Up

Camaro to a DSM.. Good trade off!!
Just can't beat a solid DSM.. Cheap lots of power and AWD. Ad there is nothing like boost! Goodluck

Involving the brakes can I take the front and back rotor caliper of the Vr4 as we have a donor car we can use parts from?

PS just wanted to say thanks i will keep you guys updated on anything i do.

You don't need 600hp to get into single digits. An auto will help you get there easier. English Racing has done some crazy things lately with smaller sized turbos. Maybe look to see what they are running and go from there.

it my 10 second project but money is tight so right now its my DD, after i do the brakes.

what the guy told me he has done to the car::D

16g turbo :D
vacuum hose dlt
has water temp gauge :D
boost gauge :D
crack in windshield :ohdamn:

that is all he really told me and the brakes was shot.
i drove it home on the e-brake. i just got the brakes and 1 new brake caliper the other day.

problems :ohdamn:

i dont have and low end power. it only picks up after 4000 rpm. not very fast yet. my friend past me when i was gunning it and he was like 5 cars behind me.
windows dont work at all.
the heater fan dont work at all.
missing 1 of the 2 front fans the right 1 if your looking from the front of the car.

things that is be done this weak:

brakes
plates
and upload pics i have only 1 on the car so far it is on my profile.

so i know what i need to bye want to get it in like 3 weeks.
do it just hook up or do i have to do a lot of cutting.

First off, welcome to the dsm world. Im very new also. Had my 1g for about a month, and just got this account today. You have a beautiful car in your hands. They have so much potential. What i plan to do add a holeset hx35 turbo. Look in to one of those. My buddy has one on his and it spools gorgeously

I highly recommend getting dsm link. In order to use ecm link, you need to either have an eprom ecu, or send your ecu into ecmtuning (the makers of ecmlink) to get converted to use the chip. They can also do diagnostics on your ecu and fix it if it needs it, and set up ecmlink on it. Also once you buy ecmlink you get access to their forums which has lots of good tuning info and help.

After getting ecmlink, you can upgrade your fuel system, and use link to tune it. Also, make sure you get a wideband a/f gauge, Innovate makes a popular one the MTX-L, or Lc-1.

Of course you should get the car running good before you start buying parts, boost leak test and basic maintenance. If the car hasn't had the timing belt and timing components changed recently (about 60k miles), I would start with that using oem parts, and also change the waterpump (oem also) if you are in there.

good luck
