New to the DSM World!!

Hey guys Im new, haha.


Well first off I want to say that I just bought my friends purple-ish 97 17G GST.

It is not running at the moment, He just rebuilt the motor, or so he says. and nothing is hooked up. I was wondering what you fellow DSM guys have to offer- Advice wise.


Like where I should start with getting this car running.

having a service manual is key with these cars

Service manual, check timing make sure all the parts are there start hooking up everything make sure to do the proper maintenance on the trans and such

New Info the stock motor was blown so He bought a 95 evo3 motor and swapped it in,

What will I need to get this thing wired up? Its already bolted in and the trans is connected but the motor is not connected with all the wiring not sure where to start... Since this isnt the original motor. and since Im no DSM Mechanic

Just start plugging stuff up. Idk if that harness all matches up but it should. There may be a few plugs you will have to splice and use a different connector on but it should all go pretty smooth.
