Hi Everyone, My Name is Nick and I recently just bought a 95 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. Runs like a champ....for the most part. My problem is that when I am driving at normal speeds my Vac/Boost gauge fluters at a high rate of speed. only during Vacum though, Under boost or during deacceleration it stays as stiff as a board. the flutering is more promenent between 20 and 10in. It only vibrates between like 1in. I think it is my EGR. i know it only fluctuates during cruising. Also i have an exhuast leak so I didnt know if that could be the cause of it. I havent done a boost leak test but I figured since when under boost it holds true to 15psi then it wasnt leaking or am I wrong?

Oh yeah, is it common to accumulate oil under the sparkplug cover? mine seems to always build up a nice little pool in there. Possibly a cracked valve cover?

Thanks!
Nick

I cant answer the Vacume question , but the oil leak can be anything from a leaking oil cap gasket , cracked valve cover or the gaskets for the spark plug wells , hope that helps.

Do a boost leak test just to play on the safe side.

And yea, you might want to check your valve cover for cracks and the gasket.

I had the same oil problem as you and all it ended up being was a faulty oil cap. The gasket on my old cap was shot and a new cap cleared everything up.

Welcome to the world of DSM's. Hope you have a good tool set. :)

How to make a boost leak tester and use it.

http://www.vfaq.com/ <- I highly recommend reading some of the faq's at this site, specifically the "1000 already answered questions" and the "Top 10 Most Asked" pages. There's a lot of great information in there to get you up to speed on lots of different subjects.

Again, welcome to the club and hope you enjoy your stay. :thumb:

Cool guys thanks for the replys,

MrBoxx - Thanks for the links, I didnt realize making the testers where so easy, also that website has a crap load of info on it. Thanks A LOT!!

I just put a new oil cap on the other day so ill have to check it and see if there is any oil underneath the cover. Now that i think about it there was always oil where the seal road on the old cap......

Well thanks again!
Nick
