I have a new oil setup now and my car runs very high oil pressure. When I start the car the oil pressure normaly starts off slow and climbs up to pass the high make and stayss there all the time. I am runing synthetic 5w40 if that help with diagnosic. and here is picture of my setup parts. I am running a oil line to the turbo from the sandwich and the other port are closed, I am running my oil pressure at the bottom of the housing.

P.S. Would this high oil pressure cause my car to smoke?

I have the same setup as you. My stock gauge reads slightly high but my after market gauge jumps from low to high depending on RPMS. My turbo smokes when its cold, but it also has a lot of shaft play. Oh yeah it's has less than 3000 miles on it. What kind of turbo are you running? Do you have a oil restrictor on it?

I am running a t3\t4 garret. What do you mean by restrictor? What can I do to restrict the oil flow to the turbo?

I'm going to take two guesses on your problem.

1. You didn't use that nifty search button up there
2. You have removed the balance shafts causing high oil pressure

Port the oil relief on the oil filter housing and it should be the pressure down. High oil pressure will kill garrett turbo's. I suggest porting the housing, or at the least using a -3an line setup. This in itself will restrict the oil.

The line coming out of the sandwich is the same one that I am using. Is that good enough as well as porting the housing

I am not trying to be an a$$ but I have a radiator out of an automatic car in my car. I am wondering if I can use the radiator as my oil cooler and if anyone has ever done that.

I've already asked that question a few months ago on another thread. The answer was no. The rad is designed to handle about 15 psi max of coolant pressure. Oil pressure can reach over 100 psi. The thing will pop like bubble wrap.

Glow shift has a decently priced oil cooler kit which I was thinking of picking up.
