Does anyone have any experience with this shop?
I understand that John Reed, who used to work at TorqueFreaks and is a master AEM tuner just recently started here. I guess they have a couple fast full race DSMs.

I work there,(at RRev)and I have to say John is the man when it comes to tuning. and yes we do have some fast race DSM stuff.

I just happen have a 93 Colt 4 door 4g63 swap and FWD auto tranny, best time 9.61 at 145mph on a 61mm turbo and a 50 shot.

We are selling the AWD car, the owner wants to to concentrate on another project. (Supra drag car)

We'll be doing alot more work on the Colt this winter, basically a whole new set up, and a fuel switch. C-16 just ain't gonna cut it for what I'd like to do....

Tom

Tom where is the shop located, nice to have another dsm shop in oregon... Can't wait to move back home after Graduating UTI...

So what does Tim want for the silver dsm race car? I know that he has had his fair share of drivetrain problems.

We are on Janzten beach, back by the auto auction, just follow the road back past the mall and Car toys and you'll drive past us...

Thanks

Tom

How do you guys tune the awd cars? I know with a dsm you can just get a vce and disconnect the driveshaft to put it on the dyno, but what about an Evo? Street tuning only?

All you need to tune is a street tune, any good tuner can tune just a good on the street and safer than he can on the dyno.

I know that, I want to know if they will street tune the car. Most shops won't do it. They say it can be too dangerous.

Street tuning is only dangerous if you are racing around recklessly "tuning". Done right, it is no more dangerous (or illegal) than your typical commute.

We can tune on the street as long as you have an onboard wideband. I feel it is the most accurate (though probably not the most convenient) way to dial a car in anyway. The dyno is simply a tool that can make the process easier but I always finish up on the street where applicable. This also allows tailoring the driveability to suit your particular driving styles.

john reed is an awesome tuner and mechanic and a friend. he gave me an two friends a tour of the shop and it looks very well setup. I got a much better feel for their shop then torque freaks and that says alot because torque freaks is a top notch shop.

Who on here has had there car tuned (AEM EMS) by John Reed? I am looking for someone to tune mine.:thumb:

just letting you know I saw the supra at the BOTI as well, I got your card while you were talking to Brian Macy of (horsepwerconnection.com) I'll be bringing down a small group of DSM's sometime in the near future to check out the shop.

P.S. Did you guys tear up a bit when you had to roll the fenders on the supra??

Another Bump for the best shop in PDX!... Tom should update his colts times to 9.44@144mph ( I think ).

Just don't go bowling with those guys. You will likely wake up the next morning wanting to die from your migraine.
