So I am in the process of installing a new Punishment racing front mount on my GST and I am running into a possible problem, the exhaust tube from the O2 open dump that i bought from Punishment racing is directly over about 3 inches from the lower I.C pipe off of the J pipe from the turbo. I am just wondering if that is going to be a problem... any input is appreciated, thanks!

You definitely don't want to be dumping directly on to your lower intercooler pipe. I would suggest to buying a piece of exhaust tubing and angling the outlet of the dump away from that pipe.

well thats some poor design right there, if its dumping directly over it id say your only options are to either buy a new o2 housing or weld on a longer bent tube to your currrent PR dump tube to bypass the pipe. if its all bolted up and facing where you say. then there isnt much you can do aside of those two options.

yea poor design indeed... I was assuming being that they are both P.R they would fit with each other without any problems but apparently not. It looks like i am going to have to add on some exhaust tubing to angle it away... thanks for your input guys!

Yes, this is indeed true. When i bought my car is came with both PR FMIC, and PR 02 dump. I drove the car for about 3 months and however long the previous owner did with this setup and nothing happen to the lower IC pipe. However, i was bug by the carbon leftover it would leave on my IC piping so i swapped it out for a recirculating o2 housing. None the less i had no trouble with this setup

the reason its bad is not because it will damage the pipe. it's because it will raise your charge temps leading to more easily knocking.

Most dump o2's are like that. Even when you get one for an external, its short. You always have to do some extra work and add a tube. I think those who make the o2 housings say they can't anticipate peoples set ups so they leave it short.

Recirc, o2. the open dump that i had ws obnoxiously loud, LOL quieter is better LOL (unless RaceCar) haha.
