Ok i installed new toys on my auto 2g gst. I installed all of it with just info i got off of here but i have a few questions.

1. I hear a hissing noise from the top of my mbc. when i decrease boost it stops, but when increase boost it hisses. Any thoughts?

2. I hooked up my mbc to the wastegate thing, then to my BOV-to-intake manifold tube. Thats ok right?

3. I get full boost at about 12 psi but when it shifts it jumps to 15 and drops back down. Any thoughts?

4. I incresed the boost by doing what the manual says but I dont see any increse from the 12 psi. Am I just being a wuss about turning the hex key or is there something wrong?

5. Also, how do I know if I boosted too much? Car wont start? Run like crap?

Thanks for the help and without this board I would be so lost.

Again thanks to dsmtuner.com

It is a bleeder type boost controller...this is normal.

no...it is a bleeder boost controller and you don't want it bleeding the pressure you want to go to the bov. Hook it some place else.

3. I get full boost at about 12 psi but when it shifts it jumps to 15 and drops back down. Any thoughts?

See number 2 your bov is not opening correctly.

4. I incresed the boost by doing what the manual says but I dont see any increse from the 12 psi. Am I just being a wuss about turning the hex key or is there something wrong?

If you have the stock BOV it may be leaking. Also you may have boost leaks. Check for them...search for boost leak test.

5. Also, how do I know if I boosted too much? Car wont start? Run like crap?

Lots of knock and pulled timing (get a logger.) beyond this melted pistons/blown engine.

Your welcome!!!

thanks for the help. I have a turbo xs rfl BOV. how should i hook up my mbc? can I use the same "boost" signal that I use on my gauge? I have the gauge hooked up to the line that runs from the intake manifold and I T'd it off before it goes to the "solenoid". SHould I bring the mbc there? Thanks
