I installed a cold air intake (Ebay product), hooked everything up no leaks that I know of, car ran great for a day. Now car still runs great, however I'm getting a CEL. Since the intake is the newest thing added, the rest is still pretty much stock, (Sorry it's a GS-T 1997) not sure if this is the problem. I know I have to pull the code to know for sure. Anyone else ever have this happen after an intake install, will it eventually "correct itself"?

I'm assuming it was just an upgraded intake that got rid of the accordian intake that came on it right. If so unless you forgot to hook up the crank case vent line or the other vacum line below that I dont see why it would be the intake. I'm going way way way way way out on a limb and will say if it is the intake then it's may be because of the somewhat change in air intake and the ECU in throwing a code for that but once it learns the new airflow figures it will correct it's self but thats a pulling it out of my ass quess. Id pull that codes though.

Thanks Mitch, I will try and pull the codes tonight after work. As I said all runs fine, good idle and no power loss. It did this the day after install, then a CEL, I disconnected the battery, to reset, but now a day later the CEL again. Also both time the CEL came on were after second starts, meaning got up in the morning drove car for like 15 minutes, shut car off in parking lot for 5 min then started up again CEL. Not sure if that makes sense. But yes your right about the stock acordian thing, I will check my connections again as I only unplugged the MAS.

It's def not your MAS if it were your MAS your car would not idle good if at all and your car wouldnt accelerate over 40mph/2500rpm. Do You have a boost guage. If so what is your vacum sitting at. Mine sits at 15vac after idels drops from warming up. I'm sure it should be closer to 20vac but I havnt had time to do a through vac leak test yet LOL. check your to vac lines on the intake and make sure thier good if so then sorta look around and see if maybe another line came off somewhere. the FPR vac line always gives me shit LOL. No problem with the help man if you need somthing else just ask.later

you know, when i start my car like you said i get a CEL for an O2 sensor. if i clear it it seems to go away for a while, then come back when i start my car in the fashion... like when i was testing my clutch switch and turning my car on and off then the light came on.

Just curious when your CEL light comes on does it stay on. Even after you've driven for a while then start the car again hours later. Mine is pretty much on now

mine will stay on for about a week and then go away... its weird. i am thinking about just changing the o2 sensor.

You gotta love the temperment of our cars, their worse than cats :) You're refering to the forward o2 sensor right? Where is that located? I think I saw once that a replacement is like over $100.

yeah dude, the dealership wanted 250$ to do the job and i said screw it... it looks like a pain in the ass to get at though... i think you can get a replacement for like $80 though.

Just wanted to close this thread out. I threw a CEL code 1105 for the fuel pressure solenoid. (Thanks Autozone!). Got replacement all is good. So I guess that was my problem this time.
