Looks good man. I'm glad everyone's taking my idea. :)

Yea, I'm pretty sure you weren't the first to do this... And let me get this straight, the jay racing flame piece is "too rice" but have an external dump routed to bumper isn't? Recirculated ftw unless you want your car to sound like ass.

"..taking my idea :)" Theres a reason for the smiley, being that i was kidding around.

+2 on baller. Ladies love it!

The flame piece is rice- it looks like it came straight out of APC's summer catalog from 1999. And if you're looking for a nice quiet car by recirc'ing your dump tube sell your DSM, buy a Lexus, and enjoy the classiness. DSMs should sound like nothing less than ass- and if they sound more appealing to your ear you're not doing something right. Dump truck sound with big power FTMFW!

Here's my newest picture now that I put my stock fenders back on.

This looks good, and sounds good too, but yeah, I do miss just the recirc sound with no dump. Its 2 different beasts, but they both have good qualities. Like the dump tube, you get the intimidation factor like its cool, 90% of people have no clue what that sound is when you either boost/shift next to them and scare the crap out of them. Then on just recirc'd, the turbo spool sound is beautiful, I don't need a radio to listen to music when that is happening. I love em both, but I do like the open dump out the side of the bumper, its classic!!! I'd love to see a domestic guy purge his nitrous, then you do this to him... WOW!!!

I think your wrong. Dsm's aren't meant to sound like ass or like a "dump truck with big power" I don't think I've ever heard a DSM sound like a diesel. Anyways, I'm not a fan of my car sounding like an N/A car with no exhaust when I go WOT. Good way to attract cops as well. I'd rather hear the turbo. Overall I think it would just get annoying.

An open dump sounds absolutely nothing like an N/A car with no exhaust. It all comes down to preference though- some are balls out and don't care who knows and some are significantly more modest about things. I just tend to stand on the opposite of the spectrum.

Actually they do sound about the same. An external dump o2 is basically a GIANT exhaust leak. Don't believe me that they sound the same? Take any car you have (preferably a 4 or 6 cylinder) and remove the front o2 sensor and start it up.

I think an exhaust leak and my dump sound way different. I've had both on my car. I had a very big exhaust leak on my exhaust for a while and when I stepped on it it sounded nothing like my dump. The leak sounded like crap. The dump actually sounds really nice at times when I'm WOT.

Anti-lag retards timing and enriches fuel you fool. Research before you post something you dont know about. Thanks.

Word of the day: Anti-lag.. look it up.

Your stock rev limiter which is probally set at 7500 would have the same effect on a stock car. Any how it'll just build boost and do the exact same thing, shoot flames.:| I also used to have the afc set at

1k 2k 3k 4k 5k 6k 7k 7.5k and added my own fuel +20 or so when rest of the setting were in the neatives 1k though 7k. It was just a trick to have the car shoot flames when boucing off the rev limiter and creating my own antilag on a stock ecu. I was able to build 25 psi on a 20g doing it that way. Old school, but it still worked.

Bringing this back to see any updates or if anyone else has done this. I'm going to heatwrap mine soon because it runs so close to the alternator. I never used flex tubing though.

I like the sound of fast, it quiets everyone down. :)

I've been doing dump out the bumper for a while now, but early this last spring I finally made it nice with a Jay Racing dump plate... Here is a pic:

Here is an idea for you guys. I bought these about 2 years ago and just havent ever gotten around to doing the bumper dump.

This is a chrome bathtub drain fitting, I just took a dremel and ground out the bottom of it. There was a cross pattern in there like most drains have.

The back of this measures 1 9/16" OD, meaning with some effort you can cram 1.5" flex hose onto it. Then simply use an exhaust clamp butted right up to the backside of the bumper to hold it all in place. No screws/bolts/rivets needed.

I don't understand why? Why use those? I don't see how they would be needed.

They're needed so the dump tube doesn't melt the plastic bumper.

It looks like you have some sort of cover on your bumper mounted dump tube (as well)?

I used a piece of sheet metal and riveted it to the bumper. But I cut a hole in the bumper just slightly larger then the tump tupe size so it doesn't burn. An the bumper has zero burn marks.
