Hello All,

I found some time and made it out to the local 1/8 mile track yesterday to see what the old Talon would do. I haven't posted too much info on here about this car, so here's the basics:

1991 Talon Tsi AWD
220k miles (bought it from the original owner for $800)
full weight w/cold AC
Buschur short block and head
HKS 272s
Magnus intake
FP Red turbo
Big Garret intercooler
850cc injectors
VPC/AFC & Mystery Eprom chip
Walbro 255
My ho-made water/alchy injection
ACT 2600 and Streetlite flywheel
Stock 220k mile transmission and 3 bolt diff. Transfer case was replaced a few years ago
AGXs and lowering springs
3" turbo back exhaust

I wasn't expecting a great ET, as I'm babying it off the line to preserve parts and ensure that I have a ride home. The last time I had it out, I was running consistent 7.5s at 96mph on 93 octane. This time around I decided to dump in a couple gallons of mystery (convenience store) race gas with my 1/4 tank or so of 93 octane.

I was far too rich on the first couple runs, but after leaning it out, it was pulling pretty dang hard. As for my times, they didn't improve much, but I finally hit 100mph! Not too shabby for a porky DSM with A/C and all I suppose. I believe that there's a 6 in it on street tires with an agressive launch.

Anywho, I'll let the pics and videos tell the story, thanks for reading & watching!

Nice Car man clean engine bay. 11 second car for sure. LOL your not saying that you bought the car for 800 bucks with all those parts :O if so WOW. Good find. What are your goals? When are you putting it on a dyno?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the support.

I bought the stock car for $800 back in July of 2005. Here's the story of how I found it and what I had to do to get it. My goal for the car has been to create a dang fast street car that retains all of it's creature comforts (like A/C) and looks as stock as possible. I don't plan on dynoing it any time soon, but I would like to eventually.

If you watch the video, I'm being VERY easy on the car during shifts and especially during the launch. I know there's a 6 second 1/8 mile with a high rpm stutterbox launch and WOT shifts, but I would rather not beat on the car that hard for a faster ET.

I was running approx. 27 pounds of boost. I installed a larger water injection nozzle on this day, so I feel the couple gallons of race gas were overkill, as I had to lean the car out big time. I believe that I can duplicate this performance on 93 octane.

Thanks again guys!

I think it may go faster on 93 octane. Great job on the car.
