Needing Valves! Seriously this time!

Ok. I just picked up my 4G63 Valves for my 420A... gonna do that wonderful Valve Swap Job..... It gives you like an extra 100hp!

I f'n HATE Autozone! I checked, doublechecked and then did it all over again to make sure they gave me the right valves, and their systems say that the Part Number is V5126. Then I started to notice that they looked kinda short and thick... sure enough, wrong valves! I called them up and asked them for the part number for a 1997 Dodge Avenger 4Cyl... Which is a 420A DOHC!!! V1730!!!!!! I'm pissed, so I have to wait another week for my valves.

I wonder how we could get Autozone to fix their damn computer system... I got a serpentine belt over there and it was like 2" too big!

If only... Most of the places still open are hot rod only shops... Pep Boys doesn't order Valves... Checkers wont... So Autozone is my only bet just for a temp fix... I only need cheap OEM Valves for this head... cause this isn't the one I'm turbo'ing. I'm building a Race Head and Block on the side which is going to be turbo'd... but for now my car needs to be running to pay for everything else.

Nah... I'm going to do that. But I'm ordering for Dodge Avenger. Cause I dont wanna risk that the SOHC valves are different then the DOHC Valves on the Neon. The Avenger has only two motors, 2.7L (or 3.0 I can't remember) V6 and the 2.0L DOHC 420A 4Cyl.

Mitsubishi, wants 67 bucks each! Dodge wants 53 each!

Jacob, I already found some Race Valves... Very beautiful they are! For the 420A! I'm ordering them with some Crower Dual Springs and Titanium Retainers and bronze Valve Guides.

But that stuff is going on a spare head that I'm going to port out. This is just to get my car running to get me back and forth. I have a spare head with nothing on it and a spare block thats going to be built.

Always bring in the part number and have them look it up that way
My autobone says I cant interchange parts with my 92 laser and 94 eclipse
because 1 is a Mitsubishi and ones a Plymouth duhh

I was there with the guy while they looked up the parts. On the screen of a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0 W/Out Turbo is the Part number V5126. So its the actual computer system that has the wrong part numbers. I called a little after and asked for the part number for the 97 Dodge Avenger 2.0 (which is a 420A) and it came up V1730

the Autozone I go to is ran by actual car people. They know what DSM's are. One has an old Nice Trans Am, the other has a hyped up SER Nissan, and the other... well he's the boss man and has a Cobra Mustang.

To the OP, I think you said you already found valves, but for reference, partsdinosaur.com has valves for much cheaper than the dealer.

No... I found valves I'm using on my race built head... I haven't got these 4g63 valves replaced with the 420A valves for my stock head yet.

And Autozone... 6 bucks per valve! And they are really nice!

Ok, The 97 Dodge Avenger (PT# 1730) Intake Valves came in and they are the right ones. So I'll start cleaning the head up and installing them tomorrow... YAY!
