need turbo advice quick please

my 99 gsx has a stock t25 as you all know. my buddy said he has got a gt28 for sale will it fit my car. i know a t28 will fit but what does the g in front of t28 stand for

Im assuming the g is for garrett and yes it should bolt right up no problem

Don't assume. The "GT" is a different series of turbo (ranging from 27 to 50 lb/min) and are ball bearing and use a rectangular bolt pattern turbine housing, which will not bolt up to a DSM easily.
