eBay Motors: TURBO BLOW OFF VALVE TYPE S BOV ECLIPSE TALON GSX GST (item 110340976344 end time Feb-20-09 05:49:22 PST)

like i just wanna know if this be better than the one i have, thats all i really need to know, im going to get it tuned in for the 850 injectors this week at protune, then get it dynoed, once they tune in the fuel stuff, im gonna put my nitrous setup in, but i want to change the bov, but im new to dsms i have just gotton this car in sep, so any info for what else i can do that will give me more performance, pls lemme know.
btw thank u guys for all the help lately

Well thats a ebay knockoff, try your best to stay away from ALL of that stuff(im not saying all of it is bad, but most of it is), look on the classifieds section for any bovs also. You may know that the TYPE-S was discontinued from greddys lineup, but there is a RELIABLE brand out there that has been remaking them, but they fixed all the bugs so this is better, even though you could consider it too a knockoff, so if your interested google NGR.

HMMM.... that doesn't really look like a 1g BOV to me, the nipple is on the very top, and it looks like its adapted to fit on a 1g flange if you closly. I would say tial is the best out there, but looks like he needs a good recirculated BOV, while tial has one there ungodly ugly, and odd shapped. I would say look into getting a dodge modded 1g, or even a crushed 1g should hold up to what you need.

Alot of these threads these days...

1g bov would be fine and the cheapest way. Other than that I like the greddy BOV's type S is already set up for recirculation while the RS needs an adapter.

With your mods all you need is a good 1g BOV. The eBay link you listed would be a downgrade from a good 1g BOV. Whatever BOV you do decide to use, remember you need to recirculate it. Also I noticed in your profile you have no engine management software, how are you going to tune your car?

It looks like you have a 1G BOV, which is way better than that junk in the ebay link. I've never had issues with 1G BOV's; they work great for most people. If you are going to run 30psi or something, mod the 1G BOV and it will still work great. So far, I've just crushed mine some and it's great.

Taking it To ProTune, thats what they do, there gonna do it all for me. for like 200bux

I agree that the BOV in the engine bay doesn't look like a 1g BOV. If the UICP is flanged for a 1g or for a greddy, that'll have an impac on which BOV to get (unless you can do the flange mod). If it's flanged for a 1g BOV, get one used off of ebay. I got mine for $25. Then I sat down with a few beers and some sand paper and cleaned it up (it was a mess). Then I painted it gloss black and it looks better than new.

That said, if your BOV is working and there is something else you *need* I suggest spending your money on that instead. Shock tower brace? Cold air intake?

i have cold air intake, it might be cropped out, cause my 10mp cam takes pics at hires so i had to crop it down so i could post it, yea i will do that, i thing its flanged for the 1g bov, but i wasnt sure if that was the way to go, but seems from most of the other posts they say u just stick to what i have now, thx guys!!!

Dont get the ebay crap :notgood:, I bought one and installed it then a week later I bought the "true" GReddy type s and haven't looked back since. I say go with the true GReddy type s.

My ebay type-s fluttered until I got it just right. Complete pain in the butt, and the lower nipple broke off when I bumped it with a wrench. :notgood:

I got the ebay crap too. The only reason I used it was because it came with my $175 intercooler and piping kit. When it arrived, the nut inside that holds the valve to the diaphram was about 8-10 turns loose (not even touching the diaphram) so the valve didn't open at all. So far every 500 miles I find another small boost leak on the BOV somewhere, and last week when I changed my transmission, I too broke off the lower nipple. If the flange on the piping would fit my 1g BOV, I would put it back on in a second.

I have both a 1g bov and a ebay type s. I used the type s when I was only running 8psi of boost and it worked fine. After 1 year of use I tested it to 30psi and it didn't leak at all. the diaphram is cheap as shit but it does hold pressure and release fine.

so should i just keep the one i have, or just get a new one?

If it were me I would buy a real GReddy type-s since it is flanged for a GReddy. I personaly like the sound of the type-s over all other BOVs. I bought my Greddy type-s off of the classifieds for $160 shipped.

I dont know if he still has it, but this was on the classifieds Message - DSM Classifieds

if not there are always ones on ebay. Just make sure it is the real one :thumb:
