Charcoal canister? It connects to the intake if we're talking about the same thing. Black cylindrical can? That's it. I think it sends the fuel vapors from the gas tank back to the intake.

It sounds like you might be referring to the evaporative canister. A pic would help.

Well i just went out and took a look at it... the diagram was helpful to find where hoes' go but im still left with nothing... i cant find any loose hoses or anything... the only other thing i found was that on the can it was marked AIR... so could that be some kind of breather hole or something... because it doesnt show any marks of a hose being there before...

Nope everything is hooked up to the intake... i think the one you are thinking of is hooked up right underneath the hole that i am talking about.... that ones it hooked up to what looks like a filter or something that comes off of the can?

You're correct. The one that goes to the intake is hooked to the purge control valve, I believe. The connection your referring to is vented to atmosphere as you thought. I jammed my hand underneath the battery tray, and found it was vented to atmosphere. Sorry to bum dope you.

Has anyone ever removed that canister before? I removed mine and now it takes a little while for the car to fire up. it just cranks and cranks? I dont mean to steal the thread or anything, I just thought it would be a good place to ask since thats what you guys were talking about.
