so i have no idea if my alarm or key fob are factory or not, but normally, wen i would lock the car with the fob, the green security light would come on. The alarm would never go off though.
A few days ago, i had to take out my seat to fix it (non-power) although, there was a small plug i had to disconnect to get it out.
Ever since that, the security light doesnt turn on when i lock it and the alarm starts going off wenever anything is opened even when its fully unlocked. (and it doesnt stop for anything until it times out)

the reason im unsure if its factory is because there are clearly 2 horns going off durning the alarm, and theres a little black box tht i have no clue what its for. The alarm still goes off after i disconnected it. I'll put up some pics and maybe somebody can idntify this thing

So what im asking for is how to disable the alarm, and how to know if my fob and alarm are factory.

i know there is an anti theft fuse in my 1g. perhaps you have one as well. if you havent already excluded that option? dout this will help. just a thought,

Sounds like you have a stock alarm and an aftermarket alarm. That black relay is a Starter Kill relay. It is used to disable the engine starter when the alarm is activated. If you want to remove that realy, you will have to cut it out and re-connect the starter wire. Otherwise the car won't start once the relay is removed.

The Factory alarm can be activated just by pushing the LOCK button on the door, oem key fob or with the key in the door lock.

Upload some pics of the key fob you have. so I can help you get this figured out. I installed alarms professionally for 10 years.

BTW That wire under the seat was the seat belt sensor wire.

if that's so, then why can i still start the car while it goes off? Also, it still goes off just as much with tht black box removed (which seems to be the brains of the aftermarket alarm)

do you have any clue why it would start bugging out like this? ### it never worked before i disconnected the seatbelt sensor

it wont let me upload the other pics, says im over my limit

I was refering to the black relay in pic #3 That is the starter kill relay.

The piece you removed doesn't look like the alarm unit. Re-trace those wires back to the rest of the alarm unit.

There may also be a small push button somewhere under the dash....that is the valet button. If you turn the key to the ON position and hold that button down for like 5 seconds it should disable the alarm and set it in VALET mode.

Im not sure why it went bad all the sudden...might just be a bad unit/crappy install.

that guys having a different problem then me. i already took out the horn relays. I can still start my car while its going off, i dnt have to take off the battery.

Can't be sure, but that box looks like an old ignition kill switch (late '80's/early 90's). You'd put in your "key" which was a chipboard with matching contacts. Afraid I can't remember what they were called back then.

as of now the alarm has fixed itself and the green security light is coming on when i lock it again. I'll re-post if it starts happeneing again.
Now im trying to fix an EVAP issue so i can pass inspection..
