So after my last I post i decided to buy the 91 talon auto awd as im not new to dsms i do have a couple of questions im not familiar with auto 1gs ok i bought the car knowing it had a problem it was either blown turbo or the piston rings... So here is the run down previous owner older gentleman put about 3grand into it from a dealership with brand new head and a supossed new Turbo ok. ther car doesnt boost right under wot and smokes up the whole street and the turbo sounds like a supercharger and falls on its face when u try and floor it.

Now heres the catch When the dealership replaced the turbo I belive they replaced it with a 14b because when i floored it hit 14 psi and fell on its face i also notticed there is a oil leak comming from oil cap and from oil feed line i dono if this is the cause of all of the smoke also

Im wondering if its running to much boost for the tiny 390 injectors and thoughts tips would be excellent also i plan on running a compression test

bluish grey so im basically playing a guessing game its obvioulsy burning oil from some where i just dont know if it was because of the 14b on the 390c injectors

Reason it falls on it face is because your running out of fuel. Get a set of 450 injectors. As for the smoke Do a compression check so you can rule out the rings.

i plan on doin a compression test I dont understand y its running so much boost everything is stock on the car all vac looks to be hooked up well.. is there any other symotoms of bad rings im praying its not also when its over boosted i belive it sounds the same as blown turbo

Are you running the stock MBC? Also you need to do a BLT(Boost leak test)

everything is hooked up stock it really only smokes under boost im thinking the turbo is shot.

Have you checked for shaft play?

Also I would suggest replacing you stock MBC because they are known to be crap. Also the factory boost gauge is very inaccurate.

Almost sounds like a boost leak, when i would floor it, the boost would jump up then go CLUNK. I blew a coupler and wasnt getting air, do a boost leak test and see if that helps.

im going to check for shaft play tommrow it feels like it wants to go then just falls on its face what are some signs of blown rings ?

Bad rings make blue smoke and low compression. However a blown turbo will also cause blue smoke.

so if i take off intake and theres a bunch of oil in it i can assume its turbo.........

it's possible...how much was in there?? do you still have the breather hose(hose that runs from valve cover to intake pipe) hooked up to your intake pipe? if you do, then that could be some oil that came from the valve cover. to help find out, buy an inline fuel filter(couple bucks at an auto store), and splice your breather hose. hook the fuel filter up to that hose and tighten the hose to it with some small clamps. now clean your intake pipe of the oil in it, and run the car and see if anymore oil builds up in the intake...if it does, then odds are it is your turbo.

Ok new results doesnt smoke as much but i pulled cylinder all the wires no oil except for cylinder 4 theres quiet a bit in there oil in cylinder 4 Now i know the oil cap leaks but why would there be oil in just that cylinder
