Need some help with T-Case install.

Ok so i was trying to get my Transfer case put on to my tranny and its not wanting to fit for some reason. It fits on the shaft perfect but t-case will not mate up to the transmission. It is hitting on the tranny in 1 spot where the lower dowl is on the front of the T-case. I am debateing on grinding the tranny down in that one spot so it will fit but was wondering if there was another way.

Make sure you don't have extra dowels in the trans and transfer case. I'm guessing you are replacing the transfer case. Also clean the dowels and holes with a wire brush/wheel. Grease the dowels and reinstal. It should be a tight fit.
Tighten the bolts evenly so you don't bind the dowels.

I had same. Problem. I did grind it down but that was ghetto and I highly recommend against it. Look in my threads and find. Post. I have pics and all. Can't link ### i am on phone

Its supposed to be off the transmission when i got the car. I got it to put it together and all and now the time has come to finish it and the Tcase wont bolt up. everything is clean on both its just hitting at the lower dowl that is on the back of the Tcase (the side faceing front of car not the part where driveshaft goes in) im going to try to work with it somemore this weekend before i grind a smidge off of it. Ill try a rubber mallet some to.
