Need some help guys!!

Well I did a leak test a week ago and had a leak at the injectors, intake manifold gasket and both tb gaskets
So I recieved the gaskets saturday and put everything back together! Fired that baby up and heard a loud hissing by the tb gasket. So I took the tb apart again and looked at the gasket SLOWBOY sent me. It doest seal like the stock gasket. It leaves a part of the tb unsealed.
I called the dealer and tired to order the gasket. I tell them its the 2nd one but they say they only have a listing for the one?!(the gasket betten the tb and intake manifold) Would anybody be able to shead some input thanks

Tell them you need the gasket that goes between the t/b and the intake elbow, although I think last time I ordered a full gasket kit, they were both the same. Could be wrong though.

I don't know about a 1G, but I recently had to do a reseal on my 2G throttle body (boost leaks) and the 2 gaskets for MY (2G) throttle body ARE different. I got mine from MACH V here.

Interesting, The 2g kit I bought had bothe shaped like the thicker one. But there ya go( to the original poster) now you know where to look. Didnt mean to offend you FORMONTOYA.sheesh

I wasn't trying to be offensive either. You have/had a 1G and know more about them than I do. All I was doing is clairifying that my experience is on a 2G which is what I drive. I just did the TB seals, BISS screw and o-ring, and the 2 TB gaskets weekend before last to solve a boost leak issue, so on mine I remembered that the 2 gaskets were different.

The kit I ordered was for a 2g. I build all years of DSM's but may have gotten a jacked up kit. It does look like it should have come with the set you linked too, but didnt.

1. 90' TB gaskets are different from the rest, dealers will not know what you're talking about at this point.

2. Did you also check if the TB shaft seals are leaking as well, I'm almost certain it is because it's a 90'? How about the BISS screw o-ring?

3. How can you not retest after re-install? Finish the leak test properly.

Thanks oldman, so I cant order them from the dealer? Man the car has been sitting in the winter and I really want it started up. I guess Im going to have to send the gaskets back to slowboyracing then. I goin to look into tb shaft seals and o-ring to!

The price for the kit oldman sent you looks to be a good buy. I would just go with it.

Nope, I have already tried many different dealers, Mitsu or Chrysler alike.

BISS o-ring is the easy part, remove the BISS screw and bring it to the store with you so you can match up the correct size o-ring. Shaft seals on the other hand is a different story because the 90' TB uses two different size seals, big one (same as 91'+) on the butterfly side and a smaller one on the TPS side and no one seem to carry the smaller one. I usually keep extras around but I'm all out of the smaller 90' seals and I wasn't planing on odering more until I sell all of the 91'+ seals. I get these seals from this company right next door to mine who happens to be a Chicago Rawhide authorized dealer, part number CR3930 shown in the picture is the larger seal on the butterfly side (this I have), the smaller seal is part # CR3030. pm me if you can't find them on line, I will place another oder.
