I need to replace my rotors and pads, the rotors are pretty shot. I plan on running in the HPDE events and I want something that will perform well on the track and still be daily driven. What in your opinion would be the best slotted, cross drilled, or a combo of both. I am looking for performance not just looks. Thanks for the help in advance.:dsm:

In these cases, neither. Get good stock replacement ones, (maybe 2 pairs) because they are less $ than the "trick" ones, and then get track specific pads. The expensive ones won't make enough difference to justify the cash. Really.

DSMs have puny little brakes, therefore anything that removes heatsink mass is a really bad thing - so no drilling, no slotting etc.

I don't do road courses, just autocross, so I have no first-hand experience with suitable pads, however the people I do know swear by Porterfield pads, either R4 or R4E (not sure which). RRE live on road courses, their preference is for R4E.

Whoa, I just noticed that the OP has a FWD! FWD's have those little 1 piston calipers and tiny rotors! WTF Look into (at least) the AWD 2 piston upgrade, while you are in there.

Those little rotors are horrible for track days, Go ahead, ask how I know.

As far as the caliper upgrade if I understand correctly the 2 piston calipers bolt right up. I fI am wrong please let me know what I need to do to do the upgrade.

Yes, but pay attention to which dual piston calipers you aquire - they have different hose fittings depending on whether they're 1G, 2G, 3000GT.

2G AWD have banjo bolts at the caliper, I believe others are different. RRE carries brake hoses for the different combinations.

You need the calipers, the slider brackets, and the rotors.

I use stock rotors with Porterfield R4E pads and it makes an excellent DD/track setup. Have tried stock pads before, but they caught on fire and melted the seals out of my calipers, and my calipers totally seized up. Also have tried Carbotech pads (Panther), but would get real bad vibration under braking when they got real hot.
