Hi guys.

First off, just wanna say thanks in advance. I really appreciate all the help. This is my first Turbo'd car and my first AWD. So i'm learning a lot.

I just installed an evo 3 16g and I ready to start playing around with more boost. I am in the process of looking for a Hallman MBC. So I tried looking up how to install an MBC and I got a bit confused so I made a couple of pictures to help me understand this.

So right now here is how my vacuum lines are hooked up: The BCS has a line that goes to a "T" that is connected to the Intercooler pipes and the WGA.

When I hook up the MBC, do I hook it up in line with the BCS such as this:

Or am I supposed to cap off the BCS like this and just run it between the Boost Source and WGA?:

Also , if I do cap off the BCS, will that create a CEL code?

Thanks.

David.

Just leave the bcs pluged in, unhook the vacuum lines from it and you should't get a cel, I have no cel just leave the electrical plug attached.

Do just as your last picture shows and just remove the BCS altogether, you are getting a code no matter once you eliminate it.

WTF, no you won't! I unhooked mine and threw it away. I have never seen a CEL yet.

Just unplug it and be done.

More specifically 96+ throw a code, if you have a 95 and it has an EPROM computer it will not throw a code. He has a 96, he will see a code.

95 w/eprom here. So even if he keeps it plugged in and does not cap off the ends, will he still get a cel?

I left my bcs plugged in with no lines running to it in my '96 and i never saw a code.
Same thing with a '95 my dad used to have.
Also I installed my buddies in his '97 and he's never had a cel light come on neither.
So your best be is to leave the bcs plugged in.
The only people that have had codes pop up that i know are the ones who tossed their bcs.

A boost control solenoid is like a boost controller, it bleeds boost off by a factory based number allowing you to run whatever the factory wanted your car to boost at. It also tells the computer what you are running for boost. For whichever reason I have no idea, but if the computer is a 95 EPROM or 1G it doesn't care if it is getting this information and won't CEL.

Some people here are going to come and tell you that it tells your turbo when to stop boosting. That's the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Last time you checked on your turbo did you see any electronic parts? A receiver for an electronic signal from your solenoid? Nope, all it does is bleed boost to achieve the boost Mitsu wanted you to run and report it to the computer.

If you are really worried about a CEL, either stay stock or get Link and tell your computer to stop checking for it.

To bad you can't tap into that code, and write it for whatever boost you want it at...:hmm:
