Ok, I was reading all the information on the stage 1 and stage 2 power upgrades for my 1997 Eclipse GST. I will be doing a stage 1 setup and leaving it that way because I do not plan to see the track much. I just want to boost the performance of my daily driver. Now I have a couple of questions.
1) I realized that there is nothing listed for engine management like DSMLink or S-AFC etc. Is this because the computer will be able to adjust with these mods? Are they not to much of a burden for the stock ECU?
2) I see the estimated 1/4 times posted for stage 1 are achievable with 100 octane gas. What are the estimated 1/4 mile times I can expect with a stage 1 setup, good driving, street tires and on premium pump gas?
3) I am wanting to make the installations as simple as possible and don't want too much modifying of parts to make things work (ie. tubular manifolds, o2 housings, etc) since this will mostly be done by me. Does it require much to bolt up the Evo Big 16g? Should I just stick to upgrading to a T28? I will probably be keeping the side intercooler because I think for the power I will be achieving it should handle it right? Plus it will give it less visual attention allowing it to be more of a sleeper.
4) Will the gas mileage be affected much with the Stage 1 setup? What are the average mpg's being achieved right now with a mild setup like this?
Please help me out with these questions. Thanks.
