Need help wiring a battery kill (track legal)

I have my battery mounted in my trunk at the moment. Now i need to wire a kill switch outside the car so i can run at the track. if i put the switch inline with the wire going from the battery to the front of the car that will only cut power to the battery, the car will still run off the alt. do i run a new charge back wire and put the switch on that as well. meaning, battery wire is split by the switch as well as the charge back wire? I can't find anywhere that'll tell me how to put this switch in to totally kill the car.
if anyone can help tell me or show me a link with an install procedure it would be greatly appreciated. the more i think about it the more i just confuse myself.

Yeah, you will need to put in an extra wire from the alternator to the battery, which will bypass the kill switch. Taboospeedshop.com had a good diagram of how to do it. He used a 4 gauge cable with a fuse (80amp, not sure though). I heard that some people on this board were able to use the cutoff switch, without the wiring the amp, to kill the car's power but then again I don't have any first hand experience on it. I did my fair share of research on this and read just about every thread on this forum about battery relocation.

thanks for the response. what i'm looking to do is come off the battery to the switch and then from the switch run the wire to the rest of the car. Then making a new charge back wire. Go from the alt to the switch on the battery side. then on the other side of the switch, running that wire back to the battery. when i shut the switch off i think it should kill power from the battery and alt.
