I'm in the process of reinstalling my tranny after shimming the ball and checking the step height and I can't for the life of me get the bell housing to sit flat on the engine. I used the clutch alignment tool and the tool goes in and out after i torqued the bolts.
I originally tried with an engine hoist and was having difficulty with the hoist and the tranny not sitting level. So I went and picked up an Atv jack(similar to a tranny jack) and I can get the top 2 bolts to catch and turn by hand and the one in front of the car closer to the top but I can't get the one with the dowel pin to come close to catching. When I look under the car I see the side of the tranny near the firewall isn't on all the way but I can't figure out a way to get it to sit correctly. I was wrestling with it yesterday for around 4 hours and today for 4 hours and just can't seem to get it.
I've tried jacking the motor up and down and just can't seem to find that sweet spot.
Is anyone local who could help me out. I'm willing to pay $100 for your time and help.
Let me know
Thanks
Brian
