Need help between 2 cars

I'm looking into getting a new eclipse. Im trying to decide between a 1996 eclipse with no body work. A 6 bolt swap and cat back exhaust. P&P 1g head FMIC and es bushings etc.. Im nervous to trust the 6 bolt swap becasue it wasnt put in professionally and dont wanna see future problems from it. The other one is a 1998 eclipse gs with a turbo and front mount intercooler upgrade. Also Bomex body kit, new rotors, pads and the other baiscs. The gs interest me becasue my insurence will be lower. Besides for the gs not being all wheel drive what differences are there between the 1996 gsx and 98 gs. Also in your opnion what would u get. Or look for 2 know if i should trust the quality of the swap.

Personal opinion? Get the gsx. Turbo'ed 420a's are suppose to be quite unreliable unless you really know what your doing. With that front mount, your gonna want to run more boost, but there are no forged internals(means stuff goes boom). GSX is ohh so fun awd launches, have your local dsm type shop, or a mechanic you trust check out the swap. I know someone who didnt know a whole lot about dsms in general do a 6 bolth swap last year and still running with no problems resulting from the 6 bolth swap. Just my opinion.

What are your future plans for your car? Do you plan on modding? If you want to mod an aleady turboed GS isn't going to be much fun. Plus you're going to get flamed about the Bomex body kit either way you look at it. (trust me stupidest thing I ever did was get a car with a wing) What do you mean the 6 bolt swap wasnt professionally done? Did the person do it themself? If you don't think they had enough knowledge or ability to do it well then I wouldn't trust it. You always have the option to keep on looking as well. I think the 6 bolt would be the best bet out of the two though. I wanted to make my n/t turbo and make it a 12 sec car. Now I bought a 1G awd talon tsi and I'll hit twelves for less then half the price it would have cost me with the talon esi non turbo. BUt just my .02

I dont know what your talking about! 420A's unreliable unless you really know what you are doing......o wait I know what im doing sorry... get the GSX but I would have it checked out before I bought it.....if the guy will not let you check a few things out then he is not telling you everything you should know about the car
