Okay I have been saving up a bit and my car is completely stocked so now the first thing I am going to do is remove my stock rubber intake and my filter and will buy a better one. So guys what brand should I go with a lot of members say go with injen cold air intake and a K&N filter, so I need your help if you can please leave a reply stating what cold or short ram intake pipe should I get and what filter should I get and how much would it roughly cost me.

Thank You

Happy Modding. :thumb:

Just go with an ebay kit.. It is honestly a peice of metal... Then you can get a nice filter..

i am a little new to DSM turbo cars I owned a honda and usually swap it with a cold air intake is it the same with an eclipse gst can you go cold air intake or you can only go with short ram intake

You can't buy a cold air intake for a turbo'd car. You can fab your intake pipe into the fender area or where the stock side mount goes, but I assume you still have the stock side mount.

So, what I am saying is there is no short ram or cold air, they will all generally be the same length. Sooo, being just a metal pipe you can buy a cheaper on ebay. The filter is more important than the pipe. I myself still have the stock rubber snorkel with a k&n filter.

If you don't want heat soak then buy the one that goes all the way to the fender, either that or invest in a water injection unit, but most of us don't really care that much about heat soak. Also, any intake will do, it doesn't have to be a brand name, and just like what viper said, its just a piece of metal. I could go on thrashing brand name intakes a whole afternoon because you're just paying for the name. Just pocket the extra bucks for changing other problematic areas of the car, like the ISC, colder plugs, NGK wires, 190lph fuel pump etc. I think someone has some useful info on staged upgrades if you take your time to search the forums.

The filter is a whole other issue, now that I wouldn't mind paying for a K&N.
