Langley,
Tomorrow morning I am having SS brake lines installed. Now I know that the kit I got only has 4 lines but my car actually has 8 lines because the lines go from the caliper to the shock and then to the hard line. Now, should I see if I can get some custom lines made to replace all the lines or will I notice a difference with just the 4 lines replaced? The kit I bought is from Russell and I know they make universal fit lines as well so that's why I am asking. If not I may upgrade to 2-piston calipers in the future and do it then.

2g lines are only 4.... 1gs are 8.. i think you got 2g lines instead...

you could run one long line but noway to mount it onto the strut so it doesnt tangle up or anything.

yeah I know that. The companies that make the kits for some reason only give you 4 lines. I checked the website and the kit is only supposed to have 4 lines, but you are right, it should really have 8.

if they fit id say just ziptie them to the strut and should be ok..
what does that mean? the way it goes is from the caliper there is a rubber brake line, then it attaches to the strut, then it connects to another rubber brake line, then that second line connects to the hard line. My kit only replaces the first rubber line but not the second. I want to know if I should try to replace the second line as well to get rid of any expansion in the brake system as the pressure is applied.

thats pretty pointless id just have to say you got ripped off.....

how much did you pay for those?

i payed $130CDN. I just dropped off my car and told the mechanic about that and he told me that most of the expansion happens in the bottom line so replacing those should be fine. I'll see how it works out and post later about the difference it made.
