Need an absolute fix for PO400

Had a block off plate, throwing PO400, took the block off plate off put the EGR valve back on, still throwing the code.

Someone has had this prob before, just wondering if any of you have come with a absolute fix!!

have you tried clearing the code after you put the egr back?

umm yes I did, but it came on when i went for a drive in the city, comes on in start and go traffic, just went on a 400mile trip today, mostly highway driving, did not come on, any other info would be nice.

i get that stupid code also. I never did block off my egr but i do have my emission lines capped off. I could be that but i will probably never know and it really doesn't bother me that much. I only get the code every other week and when i do get it i just take it off with the logger.

i dont know if the 1g tb install caused this but ive had my emissions out for a long time but my egr malfunction code came on 2 times today. is there a possible way of tricking the ecu b/c it gets annoying after a while

this is another apparent problem with emission control crap on our cars that no one apparently knows how to fix !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me sick to my GUT!!!
