so its integrated into the rail and needs to be cut off? once its cut do i keep the part that slides into the rail origionally to "cap" it off then add my afpr somewhere else down the line, i'm a little bit confused as to what to do here.

No, you don't want to cap or plug that part of the fuel rail -- just throw away the part you sawed off.

You must add an AFPR downstream of the fuel rail if you perform this modification.

I have an afpr I'm just not sure as to where to put it now
Any suggestions?

Would it be better to switch to a 96+ rail wiith the schrader valve?

So Locke, is this right then?

I want to try to keep the AFPR along the firewall for the ease of adjustment.

That is right. Had my SFMU about a foot from the fuel rail. Easy to get to to make adjustments and easy to get to. Make sure you disable the internal fuel regulator. That's very important. You don't even have to pull the rail to get to it. Super easy.

Now I just need to figure out how to attach the -6an braided hose to the rail from the regulator, and figure out where my fmu needs to be now

A properly functioning 2gnt FPR will not overrun with a 255. Inspect the return for obstructions. Do not overlook the fittings on the FMU as a possible obstruction either. If it is an eBay FMU, the fittings could be too small.

After looking over everything, the fittings must be where the problem is. I used a set of dial calipers and it appears the fittings are 5/16" brass barbed fittings. Those of you who have a 12:1 fmu with a walbro 255hp, what size are your fittings? Mine must be to small causing a backup at the fpr because they can't get enough fuel out fast enough.
