pistons, valves, internals etc to buy that arent to costly but till see a perfermace

differnce when redone. My pockets arent deep nore are they light. it isent my

daily driver so i can take all the time in the world to just buy part by part if i

have to. thanks for any1s help.

Without knowing where your car stands at the moment, I'll just assume it isn't far from stock.

Just find a 6bolt, rebuild it with stock internals (2g rods[the rods are the good things out of the 7bolt, right?]) Swap it, spend money on DSMLink, a good turbo, other supporting mods, a good tune.
As for head, find a new one or redo your current one. Crower springs/retainers will do you well.. I'd go with Kelford 272 cams.. Have the head machined/milled/surfaced. MLS Headgasket & ARP Hardware.

A stock 6bolt with ARP's in good condition will hold up to 400-450hp.
Don't really need beefy internals unless you're really shooting big.

If so I'd say one of my favorite combos is wiesco pistons / eagle rods.

no, find a 6 bolt motor, take the rods, use 2g pistons, and then new everything else. 6 bolt rods are the good ones. If you want a tough motor then get some JE pistons, ceramic coat the tops, put on teflon skirts, and some Eagle rods with a new crank. then do the valves 1mm over with some kelford 272 cams, new springs and retainers and whatever else you want to do.

im only shooting for 350 and the 6 bolt can i drop that right in or is there any little tweaks i will need to do because i normly had a 7bolt? my car is a 98 GST

Im not sure about everything you need for the full six bolt swap. but I know you can just use the 7 bolt motor you have, swap out the rods for the 6 bolt ones, and I think you need to machine them to fit the 2g pistons, but im not sure so i'd double check with someone else. a motor with the six bolt rods will put up with 500 hp so 350 will be no problem. I'm around there right now on a stock 6 bolt and i have no problems.
