I bought my downpipe off E-Bay from TuningPros for $101.00 delivered.
This pipe was for the 97 to 99 GSX.
It is a 2.75" inlet and 3.0" outlet.
Some issues I ran into was the original bracket that was there to mount the stock downpipe near the O2 housing had to go. While there I cut a piece of aluminium and bent it to shape as a heat shield for the lines going behind the downpipe. The 2.75" inlet was a pain to get bolted on. The corners of the nuts were rubbing against the pipe so I had to use a wrench and turn it about 1/10 turn at a time. Unless you change the O2 housing, I'd go with a 2.5" inlet to a 3.0" outlet. The other issue I had was that it was not a direct bolt on at the outlet plus the downpipe was too long. The outlet bracket was not at the same angle; like I'd want to mount up to the stock pipe anyhow but would have been nice to have the option until I got the cat-back figured out.
Other issues were that the length of the new downpipe was same length as the stock downpipe plus the Cat. I ended up taking the cat-back piece to a Car-X and they bent me a new cat-back at 2.5" diameter up to the muffler to match. I have since installed the Magnaflow muffler with dual outlets to look stock. I had Car-X weld that on for me too. They did a really good job at a very decent price.
This mod is definitely worth it. The instant power I felt from this car being able to exhale was unbelievable. I hope this helps in your decision on what to go with.
anyone know if this pipe would work on 1g awd 5 speed??

I would imagine you could have the flange cut off and have the other flange welded on but I'd see if there is one out there that is a direct bolt on instead. Save you time and money plus wouldn't open the door for possible leaks.

My guess is that since the pipe was designated for a 97-99 GSX that it wouldn't fit your application. Check their e-store and see if they have one for your vehicle.

Well I can cut it off and weld it for free but the leak and gastket is my only issue.... I just needed ot no if I could weld it cause it is stainless steel.

Thanks
