Hello everyone, my nativa 2.4L broke the small timing belt and a little piece of the belt broke the CPS, so I bought everything timing belts both, CPS sensor (original) all the oil seals crank, cam, oil pump and balance shafts oil seals, and new tensioner and guide, installed everything by the book, started the engine it fired right up no problems, gave it a test drive, I could feel the difference more power etc. etc. 4 days after wile driving in the highway the engine died on me, tried to start and no go, it cranks but it does fire up, connected the scanner and again code P0335, I know electric parts are not perfect but can it be the new sensor died on me? should I tried testing something before replacing the sensor again? Thanks in advance Turbo

This is only a worse case senerio: Assuming the Nativa engine is similiar to the 2g Eclipse (I've never seen one), was the CPS sensing blade damaged (because it is what really destroyed your old CPS)? If so you may have crankwalk and need to measure the crankshaft end play.

Thanks for the hint, crank walk is the movement horizonal right, the crank is moving back and forth, it could be the stationaries worn or worst the crankshaft worn, I'll check that end play today, just need to remember where I put the dial indicator.
Thanks luv2rally.....Turbo

Ok I found the magnet dial and crank is within specs, took lower cover off and found both bolts that hold the sensor in place loose, the magnet in the center of the sensor is no longer there, bought new sensor, cleaned the threads with a tap used loc tite thread locker on the bolts installed everything back and on first try engine fire up, thanks for info, hope this helps others and on first job use thread locker to avoid doing the same job again. TURBO

Luv2rally the engine is same as Galant SOHC 16V but the igntion is in front of the camshaft sproket with a Camshaft Position Sensor inside, next to it a single ignition coil, if I find the way I'll upload a photo of it.
