I noticed this sensor was not plugged in. It is right under the TB. What is it for? I'm guessing it should not be unplugged like that...?

Throttle position sensor (TPS)? That seems odd though... I don't know if your car would really be functional if that wasn't plugged in. How was everything running?

The idle after driving the car will go up to like 1400-2400RPM after the car heats up. And I started it yesterday and as it sat there after warming up for a minute it started revving BY ITSELF as if i was hitting the throttle once every 2 seconds and bringing it up to 3000RPM! I shut it off and just left it there until right now, and I noticed it was unplugged as I inspected around the TB...

It's a possibility then. Have you tested the idle after you plugged it back in?

Nope. ISC. Your idle may just be off or erratic.

edit: +1 beaboutit

Correct TPS is the black one on the right side.

iac, you need to plug that in, tps is located on the right of the throtle body in the first pic

That is what I was thinking, but then I realized he had a 2G and I thought that they may be different. I guess I was right after all.

OK well I plugged it in, and the car will stall now. It started, held the idle for like 5 seconds, then as I let off the parking brake the car started rolling forward and it stalled out. I restart, and the car wont idle w/o me on the gas.

Should I reset the ECU? Or do I need do adjust the idle now with the BISS since the IAC/ISC is plugged back in?

www.plymouthlaser.com

Set your base idle, check your TPS setting, and check your base timing while you are at it. All under the engine mods and maintenance section.

how do i set the idle when the car doesnt stay on? do i have to adjust the TPS before i can get the car to idle enough so that I can adjust the BISS?

That'd be a good way to start. Also put your BISS almost all the way in, or however it was before you moved it.

Yup - plug the ISC back in and adjust with the BISS screw
