1G NA rough idle, and grinds in gears

i have a 93 1g n/t 2.0 and it just recently started to idle really rough between 500-1000rpm on cold and hot starts. but drives just fine doesnt seem to missfire when driving. on my way home from work today it had trouble going into first, and when it did it would grind. also it grinds going into reverse,and when down shifting from 4th to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd. clutch pressure good. slave cylinder and linkages seem to work fine, and has plently of fluid.

Make sure you have proper adjustment of clutch. Check slave and master cylinder. Bleed ctutch. Also could be worn out syncros

also check free play on pedal & shift cables

on my n/t the idler was fixed with a newer used ecu(mine was fried)
and the grinding is most likely your tranny
try mixing redline and syncromess fluids and putting that into your tranny
its made the grinding in my tsi almost unnoticable
