anyone know how much power i can pull out of a 420A engine without turbo

I know right now the engine is supposed to be giving 140 HP, but it doesn;t feel like it.

I am planning to swap the stock intake intake with a CAI/K&N filter, get a catback or a 2.5, or a 3" exhaust (need help on this decision), and get a cat. asap

ive noticed many ppl on this forum have gauges and loggers for all kinds of things, is there only for HP/Torque or only a dyno?

ALSO, how do you people record sounds from ur cars, I have a few noises I would like to post up here for some help with, a rattling near the center console, sounds like coins vibrating but its not cuz last time I ran it without anything in the holders and it still made noise, and a loud whistle when accelerating WOT.

whistle could be a vac leak. Go with a thermal exhaust. My friend used to have a N/A eclipse and it sounded nice on it.

depends on how much money you want to put into it,... as far as your concerned, i would guess.... somewhere between infinity, and two infinity, maybe even beyond.... dont worry about how much you can, find out for yourself... each application is completely different...

obvious it depends on how much money i put in and i will find out for myself but i was looking for a ballpark figure of anyone that has done before me, thanks for nothing though

my first car was a 98 gs, and i still have it - basically i did an aem v2, dc 4-2-1, greddy evolution 2, msd wires, ngk plugs, tune-up and compression check. As for the exhaust, nt exhausts are at most 2.5'' My greddy evo2 is slightly less than 2.5 (~2.4). pics of it are at cardomain - www.cardomain.com/id/thefunkpig. It sounds nice, but it still felt like it made more noise than power. From what i've read on 2gnt (forums.2gnt.com, the most complete website for NT vehicles), you most likely wont see yourself pushing past 180 whp all-motor. There was some thread there sometime ago there about the possibility of hitting 200whp all-motor and it was pretty much very very difficult to achieve.
here's a link to the huge thread about it:

I know that DR1665 has an ESi Talon that is powered by a highly built 420A (i've seen it myself at MOD '05) - as for the money and time it took to get that far, you have to ask him, and i dont know how much power its got. But he fired it up while i and some others were looking at it, and i will tell you that "Daisy" (the car) sounds like :rocks: :rocks: :rocks: .

but yeah i have had zero problems with the 2gnt so it's been reliable for me. I've only had the GS-T 2 1/2 months but it seems ok so far.
