I goto change my spark plugs And I get three of them out and then one of the little buggers strips. Anybody ever heard of a special tool That will break it loose. I looked around the edges and Its very black I dunno if It didnt make a good seal or what but maybe it was leaking right there. thanks and I cant pull the head off Because I just the sucker in 900 miles and already somethings messed up. shirt happens

is the hex-head of the spark plug stripped?or the thread on the head or sparkplug thread?sorry but the better we understand your question, the better we will answer it.If the thread on your cylinder head is strippid, you can try some helicoil,it usually fixes it right up,but i suggest putting in a new one everytime you remove your plug.Hope this helped,if not elaborate on your question.good luck with it.

What in the world are you talking about? Am I missing something?!

Your looking for a tool to remove a spark plug? Let me ask you this... What kind of spark plug socket are you using? There are actually 6 sided sockets that have a rubber insert made for spark plug removal. Buy one of these if this is not what you are using. Do not use a 12 point socket to remove the spark plugs (you will risk breaking the plug and/or stripping the socket adapter). You may still be able to remove your "stripped" spark plug if you use the correct socket.

When you finally get all of the spark plugs out and it is time to reinstall new buggers, use an anti-seize compound on the threads of the spark plug. This will make the plugs easier to remove next time and resist corrosion. I doubt that this black that you speak of is a cylinder leak. Underneath the valve cover, around the spark plug guide hole in the head is a circular seal. This seal is included when you purchase a valve cover gasket kit. This may be your leak. When you get the spark plug out you will be able to tell if it is oil or something else. It might just be dirt/grease that got on it when whomever installed the spark plug wires.

Sorry, I was a little confused while reading your post. I hope that my reply helps answer your question and you get it fixed! Also regarding speedy13's post, a Helicoil thread repair kit is a great way to go if your plug threads are stripped. If this is your problem, installing a Helicoil with the cylinder head on the vehicle is a completely new project of its own. However, a new Helicoil is not required everytime you remove or reinstall spark plugs. A Helicoil is a very durable repair if done correctly. :thumb:
