This log is from my 1990 TSI. I bought the ECU and link from a guy last week. I learned how-to reset everything back to factory, except the timing tables I left alone. They seemed far more tame than factory. I already had the TPS adjusted, and set idle to 900. My car is completely back to stock form, minus exhaust, a MBC and prothane motor mounts (hence the higher idle). I added A/C back to the car, though I didn't run it here. I do have a MTX-L wideband I haven't had time to install yet, and I installed brand new knock sensor two days prior to this log.

Let me know what you guys think! My main goal is to get more sMILES per gallon! Yes, I realize any real gains would come from watching my wideband! Thanks!

I'd go onto ECMtuning's wiki and save their stock 1G Directaccess table and put that back onto your car. It'll set the Octane and timing advance maps back to factory 1g. That's what I'd do as a starting point, seeing as your car is mostly stock. It only replaces the tables you see in the thing, if you go to live DA you'll see all the DA tables in there. If you're in doubt or the car runs odd go ah ead and reset any of them back to stock as well. There should be a button for that on the left.

From what I've read, 1G timing is very aggressive. The timing tables on the ECU were more to my liking I guess, I'm running the cute 14b at 15 pounds. I haven't done any real WOT runs yet, those open loop table are back to stock because they were way too lean. I guess I shouldn't be doing anything until I get that wideband installed anyway..
