Ok i got a used oem radiator because my old one cracked and i have had this radiator for about 2 weeks so i dont think that the radiator has anything to do with it.As soon as i turn on my car the fan kicks on and doesnt shut off until i turn the car off.I have absolutely no overheating issues at all infact if you grab the radiator hoses with the car running they feel just barely warm.I know there are sensors on the t-stat housing and maybe on the bottom of the radiator but im not sure which one would create this issue. It is about 25-50 degrees here on average right now so i dont even really need the fan, infact i unplugged my fan(factory fan)today and drove awhile and the temp went up while in a drive thru a bit but barely. If it is a sensor i would like to replace it because i dont know if my ecu thinks it is extremely hot and would cause my car to run differently or what.If anyone has any advice on this it would be much appreciated.

Check the temp sensors and wiring of the fan along with all the cooling stuff. You could also check but not sure if you have dsmlink you may have the fan option set to turn on when the car is on.But that is all I can think of.

No i dont have link anymore so that wouldnt be it.I dont know which sensor actually controls the fan,if i did that would be a start. My t-stat is only like 2 monthes old and the radiator is in great shape so im kinda stumped on where to go first.Seems kinda jacked to say but I wish i would throw a cel so i could just swap out whatever shitty sensor it is and roll.

The thermoswitch, which is installed in the bottom of the radiator, controls when the radiator fan comes on.

Not on a 1g. On 1g's the ECU has no control over the fans so you can't turn them on with ecmlink. On a 2g you can.

All my connections seem good, maybe a relay though? The only reason im concerned is because i dont want it to affect driveability.Maybe it could be a ecu issue? On the way home from work i smelled a burning smell for a minute or so then it went away,it wasnt oil or coolant or any smell ive noticed before.I dont know, just fishing i guess...

Ahhh thermoswitch,i saw that and wondered if that could be it.Would that going bad cause it to run constanly or not at all though. Is thermoswitch the actual name for it so i can try to find it?

Ok,i just went out and looked at my old radiator. Is the thermosensor the white one on the bottom front side of the radiator? if so i could just swap the one off of my old radiator.

The thermo switch is on the pass side, under the fan. It has a 2 wire plug coming off it, that goes into the plug that the fan plugs into. Its an activation switch. So yes, it going bad could very well be your problem. If the circuit is stuck closed, then it will stay on.

You can just jumper the plug on the harness side if you want it to go on with key on.

That's what I like to do! The most cooling I can get!

But someone will sound off about it, I will leave now :)

Either there's wiring touching somewhere, or the switch is bad.
