Sorry I originally posted this in the wrong one... I think..

Okay, here's the story. Bought the car back in December. The car had an oil leak. My mechanic did not fix it like he was supposed to. The motor locked up.(Broke a rod) I replaced the motor with a used 4g63. I did a short rebuild. I replaced the head gasket, valve cover gasket, spark plug gasket, half moon gasket, rear main seal, new alternator, new ac compressor pump, exhaust manifold gasket, manifold to turbo gasket, both gaskets on the oil return line from the turbo, and the output shaft seal. The next thing I know the turbo locks up. It would not spin at all. I got a used 14b that had no shaft play and installed it. When I was installing the oil feed line to the turbo I accidentally stripped the port where the banjo fitting goes into the head. I fixed it by using a brass fitting and replacing the line with fuel line. I cranked the car and took it out (maybe a hlaf mile down the road and back). The line didn't hold up to the pressure. I replaced the line with braided line and that stopped the leak. Well the problem I am getting to is...
I took the car out yesterday and it did fine. I took it out this morning, I might of have been gone twenty minutes tops, when the oil light came on. Shortly after that the car started an awkward knock. I pulled over and there was no oil in the car. I put two quarts in and made it back to my house and the car still has no oil in it. I don't think that it is burning oil because I don't see any some, even at high RPM's. I can't see a leak anywhere. So if someone could give me some kind of advice, help, or anything at all I would greatlt appreciate it.
By the way my car is a 1992 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. Thanks

Coolant clean? Not a good idea to run low oil with a turbo, you'll destroy it faster than anything. Only thing I can say is fill it up with some cheap oil if it's leaking that bad and drive it briefly to warm up then park it over cardboard/newspaper.

If the coolant isn't the normal color then the HG may be bad.

I have already put a brand new head gasket on it. So I don't think it is that. But I guess I can try the cheap oil and cardboard. It's just that where it is parked I would have noticed a leak this morning when I parked it last night. But thanks.

Did you have the front main seal changed as well? ii only ask because i almost bought a Saturn as a DD took it for a 2day test drive(the dealership owner is a family friend) and oil light comes on. I put 3qts of oil in it go home drive 20 miles oil light comes on again. WTF? I checked to see if it was blowing smoke, nope.... Then went under the car, BAM! The front seal was leaking badly when the car was on. Check that seal man.

did you run the car with the oil light on?? because that light only comes on when theres NO oil pressure... meaning theres ###### no oil in it. I understand you put 2 quarts in but if it was empty 2qts aren't going to show up on the dip stick. It wouldn't hurt to just do and oil change and see if the knock goes away. If the knock doesn't go anyway you should pull the oil pan and check for damage because it ###### spun a rod bearing or main bearing.

okay, so ill post on this since i just looked at the car.

i pulled the dipstick and upon looking at the oil level, you can see alot of goldish color shavings. i beleive that it is a spun rod or crank bearing material. also, i went to start it for a short time and it is knocking loder that if you beat a metel trash can with a hammer. i think that when he drove it back to his house yesterday, even though he just put oil in it it just leaked out that quick. so i had him start it while i looked under the hood.................bam right there, i could see the oil pumping out of the oil return line. it must of been cracked..............

well he bought the car from me and it had a oil leak, but the shop he took it to never fixed it and it locked up.
then i help him get this engine running, but i had my doughts from the beginning on his engine choice. ............... the dsm saga continues

Strange. I have an oil leak. (Not very bad at all. But I just check my oil every time I get gas and add a quart when needed. I have seen no problems with doing this and it really isn't that awful..

But my turbo seems to be in okay working condition.

Dsms usually leak, from oil feed line, return line, rear, front main seal, valve cover gasket, or valve cover has cracks, oil pan, ofh.

OK did not want to start a new thread so figured since the OP got his figured out you guys can try mine. New 2.2 built motor mostly everything new on the motor side. Put about 700miles on the motor w/ non detergent oil, did an oil change again with ND oil. Got about 1500 miles on the motor and saw every once in awhile a very little bit of blueish smoke. So checked my oil just to be sure and NOTHING on the dipstick!! Took 3 quarts to get her back where she belongs! Put another 60 miles on her and seems the smoke is gone. Not sure yet, parked it last night and not going anywhere untill I get this figured out. The issue is there is no oil leak I am aware of, been parking it in the garage and nothing on the floor or at work(same parking space). Check my overflow tank and just antifreeze in there. So where did my oil go to? Is it possible that my turbo seal is bad(no play) and wasted it thru there even tho not smoke came out the exhaust untill later? I will look for more signs tonight but any guess?
