My new rims Part: 2

Well i am finally done with this small project. What i did was pressure wash all 4 wheel wells, scrub all the mud out, spray a coat of gloss black rust stopper, the coat it all with rubberized under coating. i think it looks a lot better main reason is since the previous owner thought it was cool to paint EVERYTHING in the wheel well electric blue. yeah the engine wheel well was painted blue.... now its black, i didnt get a chance to paint the front brakes becuase i want to do that when i have some red brake paint and when i get new rotors. found out i had replacement shocks "monroe" to name them. well here it is....

Just thought i should add, i coated the undrsides of the shock towers several times with the paint and undercoating making sure it doesnt rust! still waiting on my set of mud flaps i had to literally search all over the US for. Yeah thats right they dont make them anymore and i got the last set!!! yay! well the last OEM set!!!!

Not to nitpick, but did your tireshop use hammer on wheel weights on brand new gsx wheels? I would be super pissed. I make sure they know to use stick on weights before they touch any of my wheels. Otherwise, all your work looks great

even stick on weights are crap. i always have mine placed on the inside of the rim.

for those looking to do something like this and have some money to spend. Look into Por-15 its ment to be applied to frames and underbodies. apply it right over rust and its supposed to seal and stop the rust and protect from future rust

that looks pretty bad ass, what kinda wheel well coat did you use?

i coated the wells with coats of gloss black engine enamel (rustoleum - stops rust) and then applied the rubberized undercoating from rustoleum. looks like its not gonna come off.

Nice! , I pressure washed, wire brushed, sanded, brake parts cleaner, primed, and sprayed the rubber and as soon as I went to the car wash it sprayed off...

I just went up today and bought Duplicolor Truck bedliner $10 a can.

If it don't work, I'm going straight to linex.

reason it probably didnt stay on the car was cause either there was residue from the brake cleaner or it was from painting first and then applying the coating.
