Props on the gst spyder, and i love the supra. Ive always love supras also, but believe it or not there are a couple here in the small town i live in. My friend just picked up a 96 with 56*** ORIGINAL miles on it for a little less than 20,000 bucks, so ive stared leaning towards the rx7 since there are like none in my area. Dont get me wrong i love my dsm's to death i have two, but turbo rwd is an awsome combination if anyone has had the experience.

Hands down.......one of the best spyders out there. Now can you make mine look like that as well????
Loving the front bumper with the side vents and just the opening for the FMIC. It makes the car look much more aggressive.

Best of Luck
Osman

hands down on the cleanliness of the front end .. sweeeetness and props :)

Andrew I'd get a bigger spoiler, paint some shit yellow and then add a few subs, should help with the star situation.

very clean, now as for land speed racing. fast MPH wins? never really looked into it much

haha!

Are those fresh new OEM headlights I see on your car? If that's the case, that is money right there!

Yah, I dont like any of the aftermarket headlights

Depends on the course. At El Mirage you score points so you go against class minimums sometimes as well. You score points for getting closer to the records and more for beating them. I did within 1mph of the record twice last season. So close but not quite there. At bonneville its no points, just records. The class I ran in last season was Production Supercharged 3000cc. So 3 liter motor forced induction and all stock body class.

Your car is coming along nicely, gixxer. I didn't notice much of a difference at first, but then after closer inspection, it looks alot cleaner. But no matter what:

Dont worry about the supra out there I have a storage unit the eclipse will be staying in pretty soon..

I can't stop staring at that Supra in the background. A thought popped in my head about if u were ever to sell it, how much would u let it go for? LOL, i'm a broke college student at this moment, so no worries. Just out of curiousity.

sorry for the VERY long post so I broke it down into cliff notes and extended version below.

Short answer:
It is not for sale

Long Answer:
There are only two cars I like more than my supra. 2008 Aston Martin DB9 and 996 Porsche turbo. I realize the asking price is probably triple what the car is worth but I would have to be able to buy one of those two cars in cash before I would consider selling it :sneaky:

I mean how hot is this:

You have to understand though I spent like a year tracking down every little thing for that car installing this or that I pulled apart the dash and climate control probably a dozen times trying and retrying for the LEDs to look perfect like it was OEM. I drove 500 miles to get the interior redone and stayed in a hotel near there because the guys there were the best I went 400 miles to the body shop FOUR times. Waited months or weeks for specific things to come from overseas, laid in wait checking for sales for the dash pieces to come up for sale brand new since toyota had discontinued them, etc etc. The suspension setup was a whole nother thing, I rode in most of the suspensions on the market for the car and determined they were all rubbish. So I built my own coilovers, my own shock valving using bilstein monotubes. I swear my g/f almost left me half a dozen times because of how much time I was spending. It was probably 40 hours or more on suspension I never just bought parts i very carefully thought out each individually and as the system. The only things I would improve more are that I still need a rear sway bar, I want to tweak the shock valving and spring rates just a touch, add a MAP ECU and tune for a little better mileage/topend. I find the ~360whp but dead nuts reliable setting with 1800rpms of lag (BPU) to be perfect for the street. I wouldnt change a thing in that respect.

Another nice thing about the sequential turbos is they make the exhaust VERY quiet until #2 comes online and you can do E-TTC (twin turbo conversion) which lets you switch into sound crafted by god mode at the flip of a switch. The sound the car makes with the exhaust/cat combination I chose and TTC mode sounds like a Ferarri 360. I tried to address every aspect to perfection but not as a show car, as a street car. A true street car. I can get noticed next to a ferarri 360 AND drive it 1500 miles to Bonneville without a worry, pass emissions and roll my g/f in comfort. I absolutely adore the car. I pull 1.2g on the skidpad, last night in a corner I pulled a little on my friends supra that had Tein coilovers and 305 width G force kD tires. I am on gforce SPORTS 275 width with half the spring rate he has. And my car's ride comfort is exactly like stock, maybe even better than stock. So basically it would take a DB9 to turn my heart and even then I bet I'd miss my supra I think thats why most supra owners are fanatical. All in all, I actually did the build for a lot less money than you would think, it wasnt even baller status it was hunting for good deals and making out like a bandit. The best part about that is when you restore a supra you DO get your money back. The car was in almost perfect mechanical condition (minor maintenance items) when I bought it but the interior and exterior were worn. I think my resale value increased about double what I spent to bring it back to new.

While much more race oriented I plan to bring the eclipse up to "Drewspec" here fairly quickly. Metal fab shop is up next, big laundry iist. I cant wait to be done with the eclipse though like I am done with the supra now. Its a real nice feeling.

^I read the whole post Gixxer. Damn, that was just crazy. You really love your supra. I never seriously asked someone how much would they sell their car for (actually, u may be the first, even tho it doesn't count since I asked it in an indirect, non-serious manner). I understand where your coming from, along with everybody else who puts their blood and sweat in their car. It sometimes bothers/annoys me (it all depends tho) when people seriously ask how much for them to buy my car. If it doesn't have a "For Sale" sign then it's not for sale, unless if it's an outrageous price they offer me, which I can't resist.

But your story... Was... Very... Wow, brought tears to my eyes...

Nah, i'm just f***ing with u, hahaha. LOL But seriously, that's one interesting story which makes sense. I guess when somebody asks how much u would sell your car for and also said you absolutely have to give a price, you have the right to say "not for sale", due to all the effort u put into that supra.

Oh and for me, one car I like more than the Toyota Supra... Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 hands down. That is a beast! OMG

I also like the Dodge Viper SRT-10 more than the Toyota Supra, but Lamborghini > All.

you think thats fair to all the other people that had to wait to be a proven member, or what?

I do when the particular person is a well known and extremely highly respected pioneer in the dsm world. It would be like telling Curt Brown that he had to make 50 posts in the noob section before being allowed to post in other forums and provide extremely technical information.

im not trying to disrespect you,but i just feel that if a rule applies to one, then it should apply to all

Wisemen have no way of bending the rules. Thats left up to the mods and admins.

And you do see he is not a proven member yet and this thread isnt new. Stop bitching about something that never happened.

I was going to state my opinion on the discussion between joe sobo and mavisky, but I think it's best I don't get involved. I don't want to add fuel to anything but my car, ya know what I mean jelly bean?
