First off I'm having issues with my 98 Mitsubishi eclipse gs 2.4 4g64 automatic. The car will not shift while in drive, if park the car turn it off and turn it on and put it in drive it will drive threw all gears smoothly untill 3rd gear. Then it won't shift up or down. But I can put it 2 and it drops to 2nd gear but If I put it in 1 it won't do anything. What could it be?!? I've replaced the speed control sensors input and output. And if I let the car idle for 30 seconds after the 30 seconds it drops idle and try's to die. The strange thing is it has yet to throw any codes what cold it be, I've replaced the MAF and the throttle positioning sensor and the cam shaft angle sensor.

Sounds like you got some more trouble shooting to do. It sounds like you may have a few other things going on. Some things that I would look for with the Idel issue are loose or cracked vaccume fittings and lines. Check gaskets, place your finger tips around all seals and make sure nothing simple is making your main problem worse. Also you mite want to check into ajusting your idel, check this page for help Visual Frequently Answered Questions - Home Page . The trans issue could probly be solved by a quick conversation with a local or close trans shop. Good Luck man
