Well, I decided I should start a journal on my current dsm, a 98 barcelona red pearl metallic gst.
Brief history: I purchased the car with a friend of mine for $400 total, back in october. I laid out $250 and he gave me 200. We got the car so cheap because it had a locked up motor and very bad strut tower rot. I had a newly rebuilt 6 bolt block with n/a pistons that I was going to swap in and flip the car quick.
I got to work assembling the 6 bolt, my friend paid for the gaskets since I was supplying the motor. I got the motor put together, swapped it in the car and made sure it ran good. My father in law wound up fixing the strut tower rot, being my friend dipped on his promise to do it. he used 16 gauge steel and did an outstanding job rebuilding the towers. I wound up driving the car for a couple weeks making sure everything was good with the car before i put it up for sale. I had a change of heart and decided to keep the car, and gave my friend a holset turbo to repay his part of the deal.
I slowly started modding the car, the first thing I did was put in my dsmlink v3 i had laying around. After that I put my gauge pod in with autometer gauges and innovate lc1 wideband. I got a dejon short route fmic off of another friend of mine for cheap and bought a vrsf short route pipe kit, and I also got a frank jr 19c turbo, 255lph fuel pump and 1g cylinder head. I swapped all of this to the car at the same time. I drove the car for a couple months and decided to put it down to not put so many miles on the motor.
Fast foward to the last couple of months, I bought a 20g turbo, fp manifold, tial 38mm wastegate, punishment o2 housing, 1600cc injectors, black leather front and rear seats, and dw300 fuel pump. I installed all of it plus my stm tank to rail kit, stm fuel pump rewire kit, and fuelab afpr. I bought the 20g because i got it for a steal and knew i can flip it for more if I didnt like it. I drove the car a couple days and decided I wanted a holset setup. I sold my whole 20g setup and bought a holset hx35w w/ bolt on housing, new punishment 3" o2, turbosmart 40mm wastegate, and evo3 manifold.
Right now the car is down for the holset swap, I am also doing a fusebox relocation to the passenger airbag location, and possibly doing an awd swap.
