I just installed my MS-II and the speedo and revs do not work, along with it runs rich...does anyone have any idea why?

I didn't touch anything that has to do with speedo and revs, I think it might be running rich because of symtech labs base MAP, but i want to make sure.

Also the brakes seem to be less firm WTF!! which makes no sense...

Everything is hooked up and soldered fine, switches, amps, power source, relays are all fine. Wires are hooked up to the correct sources, etc...so any input would be greatly appreciated :)

Brakes; check you vac line to the manifold

Running rich; A base map is just that, a base to get you started and running. You will need to tune from there. It won't be plug and play.

Speedo and revs; check you speed sensor plug. Good possibility it was hit with a forearm while doing the install.

well the brakes feel fine when i press them, they just dont work as well as they did before WTF!! it's very weird, it will just keep going a couple feet when i press the brake to the floor even in just gear.

Has the car been sitting for a while? Is there rust build up on the brake rotors?

A lack of vacuum to the power booster will result in very stiff brakes - softer pedal feel points to air in the hydraulic system.

But you know that already. ;)
Yup, just wasn't sure of the diagnosis information. Figured since he played around in that area, maybe the description wasn't quite what was actually happening.

Only been sitting for a week, so no much rust far as i can see

Try this. Take it for a drive and go down an alley or dirt road and hammer the brakes. That will activate the ABS and might help with the pedal problem.

mine actually doesnt have abs :p but will do, either way should do the same trick...as for the speed sensor...i cant find it below the battery tray?

Update: The speedo actually does work, I guess it was a fluke, and I'm assuming the rev doesn't because it needs to be tuned, as for the brakes thanks #40Fan :) the advice worked!

EDIT: I know it hurts the cat on your car, and possibly your spark plugs, but i have no CAT and iridum spark plugs for now, so would I be able to drive it 25 miles to the shop to tune it without hurting anything in the car?

I'd try to adjust the map a little to lean it some. Or, take an extra set of plugs so you can change them out when you get to the shop for the tune. I am willing to bet they will be fouled pretty good.

yeah, i figured :p might just change the plugs since i need to change them to copper anyway. Just adjust the A/F to make it bit more lean?
