Mr. Clean AutoDry car wash

I've used it once, when we had a day of warm weather. It works suprizingly. First you spray your car with the gun on the regular setting, then you turn it to the soap setting, and spray/wash, one section at a time. You then have to rinse it off with the gun on the regular setting. Once all the soap is off, turn it to the "autodry" setting which is the filtered water setting, and it comes out in like a fine mist. Just be sure to cover the whole car with this mist. Works pretty good :thumb:

I'd rather just spend a few extra minutes and dry with a shamois and not have any doubts about how it will look... but thats just me

i use a leaf blower to blow the water off the car. No spots, no streaks, and no scratches.:thumb: My father bought it and hasn't used it yet

   Sorry man, I just pictured you outside in front of your home with a leaf blower to your car.

Yeah, I don't know _where_ the drops on the back ramp of the hood finally clear off. I like to hit the magic wand after dark and wash it then, especially on a warm summer's night.

For rinsing, just get a big refrigerator filter and hook it in-line with your garden hose.

i got the naeighbors doing it now. Ahh Yes every Saturday afternoon a block with everyone blowing off their cars:cool:

I would rather wash the car manual use the "Californa Carwash" which is pretty much a squeegee for the body of the car. Then just take a soft cloth to take off the remaining water it takes maybe 10 minutes tops, which is about how long you'd spend driving anyways.

I hate the california waterblade - not to be OT but that thing is the biggest waste of $$... It's great for large flat areas but it cannot get into all the places a normal chamios to dry it... Glad to hear that the new Autodry is workin well... just might have to pick one up when the weather gets a little warmer around here...

Q's for all of those w/ the Autodry:

*Do you have to use the included soap? Or can you use your own... I like meguiars...

It says to use the Mr. Clean soap, as others may clog the system. Which I can find to be true, as the Mr. Clean soap is a lot thinner than other soaps.

Agreed, besides the soap that comes with it is fine, I mean if you want to seriously wash and wax it use the meguiars but for a quick wash that still looks good, this will do the trick.

Leaf blower? That's like skinning a mouse with a chain saw... is it really that hard to wipe the water off with a chamois? Takes 10 min at the most on a warm dry day.

well if there is some dirt in the water if you chamois the car you can put swirls and scratches in it. If you blow it off it won't happen. Oh well

You paint is still going to get swirled no matter what. When you hand wash it, there's dirt on the car. Even if you wash without touching the car there still going to be some stubborn dirt and grime. The minute you drive a car off of the lot, chances are the paint is already swirled.

The trick to keeping the paint nice is to polish with a good glaze like 3M imperial hand glaze once a year... follow up with a good coat of quality wax.

Check with detailing shops.. they'll tell you pretty much the same.

www.carcareonline.com has a lot of good info on paint care in their how to pages.

45 mins w/ the mr. clean stuff? I just wash the car normally and use The Absorber to dry the water up. Takes less time and you don't have to use proprietary soap. The Absorber works well. Waxing usually gets rid of fine scratches.

Anybody recommend a drying rag? I dont have one and when I dry the towels leave crap all over the car. I dont think Mr.Clean is for me.

Chamois. Either real or synthetic. Both work well.
