Mounts?

couldnt find an answer here. so posted it up. how does a 6 bolt work with all the mounts needed.. Say i use a 2g tranny and a 1g motor. how would the mounts be. would they all be used or would one be left out. how many mounts to each , motor? Tranny? this is a 98 eclipse gst manual

A 6 bolt drops right in. There are 4 mounts. 3 on the engine and 1 on the tranny. You will need to modify the driver's side mount for the 6 bolt to take it.

yeah cause i just got a car and so they said that it had a six bolt swap and original tranny. . i had it taken to the mechanic and he said that the tranny didnt look like it fit. correctly like if it wasnt for the car. and how would i know if the 6 bolt mount was modified right. . i know u can tell if its a 6 bolt by the oil pan but i cant tell. . .

A 6 bolt and early 7 bolt (92-94) transmission has 1 mount on it a 2g transmission has 3. The engine on the 6 bolt and early 7 bolt has 3 mounts on the 2g you only have one.

If it has a bolt or early 7 bolt the block will have two mount tabs drilled and treaded near the transmission. If it does not then there is a 2g engine in it.

The only way to put a 1g transmission in the car is to put a 1g engine (6 or early 7) and build custom mounts from the block to the mounts on the crossmember.

ok so let me see if i get what ## saying............... lets say it is a 6 bolt and a 2g tranny. . the engine would need 3 motor mounts correct? so how many mounts would the tranny need? cause the mechanic told me that only two tranny mounts were on, and that one was broken. but i wont know for sure till tomorrow when i get the car and see it. i will try to post up pics so u guys can help.
