mounting speakers to see them

im going to be getting new speakers soon and i was curious if anyone has done this before. I want to make it so that you can see the speakers in my car. to tell you the truth im not too sure how its gonna work with the wierd shaped speaker grilles on 2gs but i wanna know if anyone has any pictures of something like this so i can see what it looks like before i start hacking up my doors or the vinyl in the back seats. i dont want to mount the speakers directly on the plastic peices, i just want to make them seen. there might be a theft problem to doing this though.... just give me some feedback or pitcures or ideas or something. thanks a lot

I just cut out a whole as big as the speaker opening for the door panels. then i bought some exterior auto trim stuff to go around the rough edges. it actually looks really good. The backs are going to be a lot harder because it curves differently.

look at the edge of your door. See that black rubber/plastic trim? i used that around the hole that i cut to smooth it outa bit. ill get some pics up soon also

to do so on the back speakers, just pop out the speaker grille that covers the speaker in the back, in my 2g thats all you have to do and put the speaker in as you normally would and everything will work and look fine

then there would be a big weird open spot where the grille was...

this really makes me wish these cars had a circle shaped grille
