Most logical brake upgrade for my case?

Quality crossdrilled rotors (e.g., Brembos) are more prone to cracking only under very specific conditions: namely, when a very hot rotor is suddenly cooled, such as by splashing through a puddle. If you never get your rotors really hot (i.e., all you do is putter around on the street) or you never hit water when the brakes are hot (e.g., the only time the car goes fast is when drag racing), then there's really no problem with good crossdrilled rotors. Of course, there is probably no reason for them, either, but that's besides the point.

You mean the super trendy plated/slotted/drilled rotors really don't make me stop faster?

I have heard on here of a guy that had some cheap drilled/slotted rotors fail on him.. the pics were not pretty, he was VERY lucky not to be hurt.

Brembo are generally good quality, but no matter how good, degrading the structure will always have concequences.

If you are that concerned, stick with blank rotors. It sure as hell won't hurt your braking performance any!

Here is a good place where cross drilling is bad....
I suggested we simply keep them slotted. Probably a good thing.

In the two years we have been in business we have sold hundreds of the Brembo rotors that are cross drilled and we even run them on all of our cars, competition and street and we have NEVER had one crack. We have never had a customer bring a cracked rotor to our attention either.

1) The way you and your average customers run your cars is obviously not on the same strenuous level that I myself (or someone else) may run their cars. I'm curious as to what kind of competition you are doing, and also what parameters your "competion" cars are being driven under.


2) Just because a customer hasn't brought the cracking to your attention doesn't mean that cracking doesn't happen. Even if you have been fortunate that your rotors haven't cracked, sooner or later they will. Especially if you are driving in adverse elements or some consistent and constant form of motorsports.
