as promised some more pictures.

most of the dash done. just need to get the steering column in place and lined up with the rack, install everything under the center column and paint that and that should put me about 90% done with the interior.

one of the previous owners decided to paint the inside of the car from the front of the rear seats back with that crap rubber undercoating. i found that going over it with the spray in rustoleum bed liner is good enough to keep the rubber crap from being pealed off. i missed one corner in the passengers side rear under the tail light that still had a little oil on it after i got done cleaning it but other than that and the spare tire well it turned out pretty well i think.

here is what most of the small lines will get for clamps instead of the worm drive clamps. now if i could just find those in the size of the heater lines and radiator lines then i will be all set.

Looks very, very nice!

You sir, are an inspiration!

I've decided to rent a storage unit/shop and proceed with a similar project on my 1gb.

Thank you.

Thank you.

and Thank you.

yea i was thinking that HP door would save me a few pounds overall. i am trying to find a compaq door for the other side. i figure as long as i stay away from the E-machieen parts i should be OK.

Nice job. I'm soon gutting my 1Ga and will be using plasti-dip that comes in the spray application. Not as thick as the undercoating and has a smoother finish. The car won't be a daily driver so I'll be able to take my time and do it right. Keep up the good work, man!

thanks for all the compliments. they are much appreciated

Looks good man is that just regular rubberized undercoating?

no that isn’t that garbage undercoating. it is truck bed liner.

its hard to do things like that to your car when its a daily driver

yes it is, that’s why i had to go buy another DD.

having a spare car sure does help me when my car frustrates me, i would love to go through my entire shell like your doing... just sometime in the future...

Doesn't that un-dailydriverize the other one?

um... i think in order to do that i would need to buy another DSM to un-DD the STI till this DSM is "DD stat = OK"...

actually the 96 Eclipse i had was my Daily Driver until it got hit. then i got this one (well another one before this one but you will have to read about that in one of my other build blog posts). then my wife bought an 04 STI and this became my project. once it gets back up and running i will un DD the STI and start driving this back and forth to work again.

Looking great, what kind of set-up are you going for, mods, etc. ?

i would like to weekend warrior it on the auto cross track once and a while but we will have to see what money looks like next year. as for what is in the car now it is just about done parts wise. i need to get an exhaust for it and i might look into camshafts and bigger injectors in the future but other than that i am pretty much done 375 - 400 whp. my mod list is pretty up to date. the only other thing i can think of that i might do is make the switch to speed density.
